Right now, You can BUY Balt Faction with ingane money (indirectly, buy the flames or medallions).

Right now with going prices, fully unlocking an account from the ground up (Minus Nightfall skills and mods) cost you ~1 million gold.

Whats your thoughts on this? The Rich and Ebayers can skip PvP and just UAX by buying flames.

Do people actually ENJOY buying ebay gold for this stuff? Like, whats the point?? Those of us that have been playing GW for over a year have no need to unlock most things.

UAX = Unlocked All [Everything]

Usually refering to Unlocking Every skill at the priest of balthazar.

Its sometimes required to get into high rank guilds, becuase it means you could roll any build they want you in.

Here's my thoughts on that:

A) Medalions will be earned quickly by all the Shard exploiters, but also by a good bunch of solid guilds who are preying on the new population of experimenting PVP players with new characters as they feast their gladiator points, increase fame quickly and earn medalions fast plowing through the unorganized lower levels of TA and bits of RA.

B) Medalions are then sold on eBay for money. The same people who exploited the game will earn money off of it. Some people who earned it for being organized, will simply earn it as is.

C) People who cannot be bothered to play this game an unlock can certainly just buy everything they want off of eBay, including pre-unlocked accounts full of level 20 characters. But very few people want that. People buy money to buy certain things in the game that they cannot easily obtain fast themselves. But not many people want to play this online game more than 5 minutes after they (1) have everything possible, (2) are sneered at by people who play to play, and (3) see that they paid real money for fake money.

It's like losing to Monopoly. But for real.

i don't care ill unlock everything with pve when i play it through and just cap all elites and sell all my stuff for cash.....

i sold off my bath flame for 4k each ... now 4k is 1k faction that will unlock 1 skill as opposed to pve.. 4k can unlock 4 skills ^_^ .... its a win win situation... as long as prices dont drop.... which i garuntee u they will.

HAHA, doesn't mean they know how to use them. I don't really care if somone buys there way through the game. It for sure is far less gratifying then actually learning to play and being a decent opponent. I don't care if they buy every skill, I've been playing for over a year and have all my skills unlocked, doesn't make me a super-duper player, you just can't buy that option in GW. Thankfully!

Strongly Disagree with UAX..

And UAX was talked / aruged to death around the time GW 1st launched and I don't think Anet will every make the mistake again of allowing UAX during 1 BETA event for balance testing and the headache it caused people wanting to make it permanet.

Anyone willing to use ebay could buy full unlock anyway, by buying a fully unlocked account. You can now buy it slightly more directly with in-game gold, but then you could always have sold the in-game gold on ebay and used the profits to buy an unlocked account.

This doesn't fundamentally change anything. It's similar to increasing the faction rewards for victories.

unlocked and Ranked accounts go for MUCH MUCH MUCH more than 1000k Gold does >_>

Well, then, this new feature will tend to equalize their costs, naturally. Supply and demand.

Probably, the price of an unlocked account will drop a bit, since it's now easier to unlock without buying, and then the cost of gold will rise until the cost of sufficient gold to unlock everything is close to the price of an already-unlocked account. Unless, of course, this new feature is here only for the weekend, in which case it probably won't be around long enough to impact anything.

As for UAX its a VERY bad idea and would probley kill the game. Unless if you choose UAX your prevented form ever createing a pve character on that account. In which case thats fine with me.
